The Drop

A sphere in dark nigra stoneware, entirely unglazed outside. The surface is covered in circular fields, each pressed outward from the centre with wooden tools, set into a finer ground texture across the whole form. Hundreds of individual marks. Inside, antique gold. A small opening at the top, like something broke through from within. From across the room you wouldn't know.
