Alex

Alex carries a closed body marked at its crown. The form is built from deep black Nigra clay. An antique gold glaze partially covers the exterior surface. At the top, the surface opens into a recessed field of dense, manually perforated texture. The glaze pulls back at the edge of the opening, breaking and settling unevenly rather than smoothing the form. Light gathers on the glazed surface, while the exposed texture remains dark and absorbent. The contrast between glaze and clay determines the object’s presence.
